Hotel Faro in Portugal was a terrible nightmare!
It was something like a decade ago.
I spent one single night at Hotel Faro in Portugal, and - for sure - I will never visit that hotel again!
It was probably one of the most expensive hotels in the history of mankind.
And - for sure - it was the worst nightmare in the history of mankind!
The room was ice-cold.
The toilet and the hand wash was obstructed - the water did not go down.
When I switched on the hair dryer to try to heat up the room a little bit, a lot of nasty black smoke came out of the hair dryer!
Worst of all - the hamburger I got for breakfast was so old and rotten that not even a starving rat would have eaten it!
And when I tried to complain, I was treated like a complete idiot:
No - there is nothing wrong with the toilet!
No - there is nothing wrong with the hair dryer!
No - there is nothing wrong with the hamburger!
Everyone that lived in Faro knew that Hotel Faro was a big scandal and a terrible nightmare.
And - by one or another strange reason - at least 90% of the hotel guests were tourists from Japan, China, Australia and other exotic countries far away from Europe.
Good luck for Hotel Faro - tourists from Australia do not use to go back to Portugal, find a lawyer and drag the hotel to court!
The staff absolutely did not care - everybody was disappointed, but to get money back was - of course - not an option!
No, sorry - paid is paid!
And the next day I checked in to Hotel Eva at the other side of the street.
Hotel Eva was a fantastic luxury hotel - everything was perfect - and it was also one of the cheapest hotels in Portugal!
Never take for granted that the most expensive hotel is the best one!
